Is it really too much trouble to take our litter home instead of dumping it? Worse still when a football club meets regularly on local playing fields and no one collects the litter after the game. Come on guys, shall I name and shame you. Local to my office it’s disgusting.
My office though near the motorway is blessed with beautiful peaceful greenery, where dog walkers and joggers can enjoy creativity and nature, until match day that is and training.
If the bin is overflowing, take it home. Let’s have a little respect please for our countryside.
A walk behind my office each Monday morning and litter everywhere. We clearly know who is to blame.
Hum! At least one of my photos shows someone did bag theirs. But then dump it! How easy would that have been to…. Take it home? I despair!
Then a short drive to find bin bags dumped along the country lane, a mattress and some small items of furniture.
I notice this more than ever now, and apparently fly tipping is costing our country over fifty million per annum. Unbelievable, and with a more thoughtful public approach, the potential to re-direct that money into something purposeful is huge.
Back to the children.
We all know my favourite quote is, ‘train up a child in the way he should go and when he is older he will not depart from it.’ Quite frankly I find it appalling. Particularly the lack of teaching some parents give their children.
I just discovered an excellent article dated 29th March in the Guardian which talks about this increasing problem and mentions the Governments stance on this – education. Yes, teach the school kids to have more respect and don’t drop rubbish everywhere.
So let’s see what happens next Monday morning. I will take my morning walk with my two little pooches as usual and see if the parkland once again is cluttered with drinks cans, crisps packets and rubbish. If so it may be time to speak to the organisers of these football matches, because it’s ok complaining about the kids but who’s really responsible? Those who are supposed to supervise and teach them of course.
