2019 Ready or not!

January 11, 2019

Following on from my last blog I seem to be continuing the theme of pets. Probably because they are undoubtedly my best friends and unless I’m travelling, they’re always around. I wonder how many children received a pet for Christmas? Or perhaps the furry battery operated one, as did my granddaughter. An easier choice!

Well, nearly 2 weeks into the New Year and my resolution to walk my little dogs more, doesn’t seem to be happening. And the question was that for my benefit or theirs? Hum!
They’re not neglected, far from it. But the emphasis is always on working out and getting healthy in January, isn’t it? Yes, who doesn’t over indulge and put on a few pounds? I certainly have.
New Year is always a time for reflection, even if you don’t make those resolutions, it tends to be a starting point for new beginnings. As for me I habitually make a bucket list. Delight in writing it in my new journal, and peruse the previous year to see if all those heart’s desires were accomplished.
This year I’m afraid there seems plenty to carry forward. What happened, did the year just go too quick or did I fail to be organised? I think the latter. Time Management is of the essence. But a thought as I embark on another year of life expectancy. We should not be sad for those things missed, they just might come around again. What of all the things that weren’t expected? O.K positive thinking now. Forget the situations that were hard work, the trials and difficulties of 2018. That’s a part of life. But we must be proud of our achievements, count the blessings and remember to look at life with a positive stance. Is the glass half full or half empty. We decide!

Meanwhile, as I reflect and plan my forthcoming projects I have to smile. I found my two little dogs in one of their favourite places looking out of the window.

I stood quietly and observed them for a while before they realised I was there, and bounded over to greet me.

What where they thinking? Perhaps the same as many of us at the beginning of this New Year. It’s a big world out there, full of opportunities and adventures. I wonder where life will take me if I am bold enough to leave the comfort zone that I have become used to and step out.

Hum!
There’s a thought.

And whilst I’m a little late posting this blog because it’s the 11th January already. It’s never too late folks. Everything in life has an appointed time.

Happy New Year
