Actually, just wanted to mention.-

Mexico is the rising star among Latin American economies, with an annual growth rate that now exceeds that of Brazil. In an economy with low inflation and manageable debt, real incomes have supposedly risen as well.

President Felipe Calderon’s war on Mexico’s drug cartels since 2006 has embroiled the country in a bloodbath that I am led to believe blinds foreigners and its own citizens to progress on most other fronts. An estimated 60,000 have now been killed in the drug war in the past six years, and given Mexico a bad profile overseas.

In spite of its troubles Mexico is an economy to watch. Mexico’s products sold in the United States are slowly increasing beyond those manufactured in China. In the UK we are seeing more Mexican influence with an increase in Mexican products, food and music.

I just pray that Mexico’s rich don’t just get richer and the poor get poorer.

In my opinion the Mexican people are great and I have met plenty over the years. The average, normal, every-day Mexican, always has a smile, is friendly and willing to help. This is a beautiful country with so much passion, flavour and culture to extend to its visitors. I really hope that the new President does his country proud.

Now I’m going to sleep.  Suenos dulces…
