A local drug lord, a book-keeper and 34 other suspected members of the Gulf cartel were arrested in a series of clashes that took 11 lives in Mexico City.
Ricardo Salazar Pequeno, the suspected Gulf cartel boss in Ciudad Aleman, book-keeper Gabriela Gomez Robles and others were arrested from October 5th to the 9th in the northern state of Tamaulipas, according to a Navy spokesperson who was involved in the arrests.
Authorities also captured four tons of marijuana, grenades, grenade launchers, homemade explosives, firearms and more than 18,000 cartridges, all of which are suspected to fuel violence in the disrupted city as well as contributing to the drug trade.
