Here’s a quick update about the Chavos Ball and, if you go to my Facebook fan page all the information is there. Please come to the Ball if you are in the area, there is certainly nothing like it in the North of England. Tickets must be purchased in advance and posh frocks please, whoop whoop!
Only 12 weeks to go…
During a fabulous tequila drinks reception sponsored by Amathus drinks, guests will be entertained by several young musicians from one of the local colleges of music. The ball will be officially opened by our Master of Ceremonies, Neil Hurst and there will be a short showcase of street dance from students at the WHYSPA School of Performing Arts preceding dinner.
Whilst guests dine, there will be live background music until one of the UK’s leading Mariachi bands make the first of their appearances, to be later accompanied by the Mestizo’s Folkloric Group. At this point one can expect an explosion of music and colour, filled with incredible power and energy. Their performance always aims to highlight some of the most famous Mexican Folkloric dances and even better, we all get to join in.
So Mexico comes to Yorkshire, get those dancing shoes out Yorkies.
Of course there will be the usual fun things on going throughout the evening, also raffles and auctions, a quick speech here and there and a visual presentation.
Further information will be released about the ball and some of our high profile guests nearer the time.
All profits from the ball go to various projects with street kids both in Mexico City and here in Leeds. Raising money has never been so much fun.
Chat soon.
