The funny thing is since I last blogged I went down with some awful stomach bug and am still not fully recovered. It is so difficult to be positive when you feel ill, hum! So how can I turn this around for good I ask myself?
I lost weight, I detoxed my body and I could use the experience to kick start my new diet and healthy eating plan.
Following on from the book I was discussing, ‘Switch on your Brain’ by Dr.Caroline Leaf, this is my resume.
Dr. Caroline tells us from heaps of medical research that as we think those negative thoughts our brain builds up a picture particularly when we are in resting mode or sleeping, at which point it sifts through all those thoughts and releases toxic chemicals into the body, which ultimately makes us sick. If we can re-new our mind into turning those those into positive ones we will in time reap the benefits of a happier and healthier life style. Now that is sort of obvious anyway isn’t it because we are very much as we think. Keep telling the world you are sick you will become sick. Keep talking depression and you will sink into deeper depression.
That said, Dr.Caroline tells us to take the following steps;
1. Gather…all those negative thoughts and think of how you can turn them around for good, basically replace them.
2. Focus…
3. Write
4. Re-visit
5. Activate
How do we do all that? Read the book!
Sounds simple I wish. But nothing to lose and everything to gain so try it. Who wants to live in depression and sickness anyway?
Stay positive.
Anna.
