London Riots

London Riots

Just returned from a couple of days in London and was I glad when that train slowly made it’s departure from Kings Cross. My heart goes out to all those people who have business interests and live in these troubled areas. How frightening this must be! On a practical level what are we doing? Are we waiting for this to happen again tonight and talk some more? This situation is clearly escalating and will continue to do so until we get a grip.

Are we going to allow youths, and in some instances young kids, to destroy our cities and endanger lives? Clearly yes! Too much talking and not enough action seems to be the format these days. The weak stand and the political correctness that we take in this country drives me nuts. What happened to our once proud to be British community? And who are these fools interviewed on BBC morning TV who seem to think we should talk more and look at the underlying causes for this disorder? Isn’t that a bit like trying to catch the horse after the horse has bolted. Who left the door open? Order should have been maintained much sooner than this, and personally I would have brought in the water cannons and imposed a curfew hours ago. These kids clearly believe they can get away with this behaviour-thus the escalation. More robust action from the police is required. Put fear into these youths and stop this NOW because I know that if we don’t take back control quickly, human nature as it is, these thugs will run rampant all the more and then who will be fearful?
