Madness

18 August 2011 12:00AM

Thank goodness last week’s madness on the city streets came to an end. Peace restored and over three thousand young people being rushed through the courts. What I don’t understand are the inconsistencies between sentencing in different parts of the country. A young woman with sixty previous charges for theft does not go to prison! Uhm. What happened there? Nevertheless I do agree that our judges overall are well able to make these decisions and the politicians should “butt out” and let them get on with it. Are they being too excessive in some areas is the question asked. I think not. If people see that we, as a nation are not willing to tolerate such horrendous behaviour, and they don’t like the consequences, then they will think twice before running riot again. We have been too soft in this country for too long, and need to toughen up. Where do we begin is the leading question? Well, certainly there needs to be changes within our schools. My generation listened to their teachers. We didn’t always like them, but we respected their position and authority and we did as we were told. We seem to be breeding a generation of kids who tell the adults what to do, and the adults let them get away with it. Drrrrr!
Sadly, lots of people are now trying to rebuild their lives. Some will never recover, especially those who are grieving for deceased loved ones.

So there’s a bit of madness around me at the moment. Two adorable little puppies who haven’t realised yet where they’re supposed to poo! Just moved into a new home. My home! I’m going through tons of baby wipes and carpet cleaner at the moment but they are just so adorable. Looking forward to the day when they can go out and I will have no excuse to get my but out of bed and take that early morning walk. There is something rather special about early morning, a time to reflect and plan for the forthcoming days ahead; whilst most of the neighbourhood sleeps on. So Butler and Gracie, welcome to the McKann household, and I will buy you your own shoes so you don’t have to chew mine! Thankfully I have a good support network and plenty of willing friends and relatives who want to take care of these delightful little bundles when I am away.
Speaking of which….Mexico is calling. Must sort out a flight soon, though I think a trip to Spain and a few quick dashes to London will have to take priority. Then of course it’s the Chavos Ball. Sooooo excited!  It’s going to be spectacular, so if you haven’t got your tickets yet, better do so soon before it’s too late.

I will put a picture of Butler and Gracie on my facebook fan page, so if anyone wants to give me any puppy tips. Feel free.
