Very often in life new beginnings are birthed out of sadness, disappointment, sometimes even tragedy. Many times I have heard someone say they have been made redundant and what appeared to be a worry or anxiety has turned out to be a career move or a new opportunity, that they could never have imagined. A New Beginning!
Through the heartache of bereavement or loss of a friend or relative, something new in one’s life can be birthed. I very recently suffered disappointment, loss, and I am in a period of bereavement. No doubt about that. But at the same time I believe I have just been catapulted into my future. It’s true that as one door closes another door opens, and we just have to be brave enough to walk through, sometimes taking a deep breath as we go and even going afraid.
I am looking forward to attending the London Book Fair, infact I am on the train now. It’s my birthday and not the best of birthdays but then who cares…it’s only a day. Besides tonight I will be able to enjoy a margarita or a tequila or both… with my Mexican friends. And then it looks like a very busy week, so anything could happen.
Being positive…’cos there’s always someone worse off somewhere, I am looking forward to returning to Spain where at least I will be working in the sunshine. Uhm..I feel better already. And I’m planning my next trip to Mexico. Actually I’ve talked about that for far too long so next week I’m going to book the flight. So there is so much to look forward to in the forthcoming weeks, yet I have such sadness in my heart as things have changed in my life considerably. Nevertheless it’s time to move on and see what the future holds.
I read something recently which made me smile and gave me such encouragement, here it goes;
‘ May you always be patient with the problems of life, and know that any clouds will eventually give way to the sunlight for your most hoped for days. May you be rewarded with the type of friendships that get better and better, and the kind of love that blesses your life forever. May you meet every challenge that you are faced with, recognise every precious opportunity, and be blessed with the knowledge that you have the ability to make every day special.’
Why do I keep hearing the words from that flipping song…’It’s my birthday and I’ll cry if I want to. Cry if I want to. Cry if I want to. You would cry too if it happened to you.’
Drrr… Keep your hopes and dreams alive
Don’t give in.
