Tiny horses

December 31, 2014

Ok so you would expect me to be blogging about Christmas or the New Year but here I am talking about miniature horses.

Although you may not see them very often miniature horses have been around for centuries. Once a favourite of many European royal courts in the past, today many of the world’s smallest horses have found their way into the collections of Arab royalty.

Monda, in the province of Malaga has bred the tiny horses with the smallest being 25ins high.

As I am currently in the province of Malaga the tiny horses came to my attention.Yes indeed, and I’m the lucky one having left the cold Yorkshire nights and gone to visit friends near Malaga, to celebrate the New Year Spanish style.

Twelve grapes at midnight and all that stuff!

So I need to find out what each grape represents meanwhile, I would love the opportunity to see one of those adorable tiny horses which apparently command prices of £25.000-£30.000 each.

And, someone has just told me that there is a breeder in the UK who has sold most of her horses over the years to Arabs, including the King of Kuwait. The horses don’t like the colder climates so the Middle East is a better option for them.

Did you know that miniature horses are also very intelligent, having exotic colours and are especially good tempered.

Awh! Don’t you just want one? I do!
Meanwhile, enjoy New Years Eve and chat again next year.

Best wishes

Anna
